Cane furniture and its role in environment protection.

Image
Canes are naturally renewal plants which are used for making furniture’s and handicraft. Canes grow in wild and give an alternative income source to loggers around forest land instead of cutting other wood plants as livelihood. As canes grow very fast in comparison to other wooden plants, it helps in preservation and protection of forest plants and hence makes it a best plant for forest maintenance.   Usually mature canes are harvested when its skin color turn brown, thorns and leaves dry and begin to fall. Identifying mature canes is very important to avoid damaging young shoots. Cane can also be grown as secondary crop to forest, orchards, tree plantations, rubber estates etc which indirectly protects the tree cover.
